For the first time in Oregon, Cannabis Classic contestants will be competing for cash prizes. One of the regions most prestigious cannabis competitions, the Cannabis Classic will payout the top four finishers in Best in Show.

Based on the entry numbers from last year’s PDX Cannabis Classic, 100, the payout structure would look like this: (it is important to note the final payout structure will be determined based on the number of entries.)

1st place: $2,500

2nd place: $1,250

3rd place: $750

4th place: $500

The Cannabis Classic recognizes this event is a unique competition onto itself, given the highly talented field, percentage of repeat competitors and lofty $250 registration fee.

“By paying out the top competitors in the Cannabis Classic, we hope to encourage both new and repeat competitors for the events, and thus an increased prize pool,” said Cory Wray, organizer of the competition. “I know competitors don’t enter to win prize money, but it does help off-set some of the costs.”

In addition, winners of the Best in Show and other categories will receive a unique, one-of-a-kind award created by award-winning creative agency D’Zine: Alaska. The other categories include:

  • Best Sativa
  • Best Indica
  • Best Hybrid
  • Top Newcomer
  • Highest THC
  • Highest CBD
  • Best New Product
  • Best Edible
  • Best Concentrate
