If you have never heard Kevin Jodrey speak before, you are in for a real treat.

I heard him speak for the first time in early-2015, and I was immediately blown away by his knowledge and passion for cannabis. I’ve heard a lot of great people talk about weed, and I can easily say Jodrey is one of the most informed people in the entire cannabis space.

Jodrey’s cannabis knowledge and experience is extensive. His introduction to marijuana came when he was 10-years-old, but not from using it; he’d picked up a college textbook about drugs and became fascinated with the beautiful pictures of the cannabis plant in full flower. The imagery impressed him, but he didn’t act on it until he left the Coast Guard in 1988. Once, as a diver in the Coast Guard, Jodrey was part of a team that uncovered an international shipment of 100 tons of finished product headed for the US. It was moments like that which helped Jodrey realize the massive amounts of people consuming cannabis, and that consuming wasn’t wrong or immoral, rather, government was wrong for having bad and immoral laws.

The day he left the Coast Guard he began cultivating cannabis in California. He now has over 30-years being involved in the business of cannabis. Today, he is one of the most well-known growers in Humboldt County and is an internationally respected cannabis expert known for improving and forwarding the modern cannabis movement. As a world renowned hunter of ganja genetics, Jodrey is fascinated by the search for rare, desirable, and marketable traits. Jodrey is the creator of Port Royal, owner of Wonderland Nursery, and co-founder of The Ganjier. He’s been a cannabis cultivator for decades, and his own operations and offering consulting services to the broader community. He’s spoken at universities, judged at the Emerald Cup, and consulted on cannabis related educational shows for National Geographic and A&E.

So if you haven’t heard Jodrey speak, don’t miss your opportunity to attend one of his talks at PDX Weed Week: Plant Tissue Culture - An Alternative to Clones, The Origin of Modern Cannabis Strains, and How to Select Male Cannabis Plants for Breeding and Seed Making.
