PDX Weed Week presented by TJs Gardens kicked-off in a big way on Wednesday, Nov. 30 with the Weedmaps Cannabis Crawl and VIP Party sponsored by Oregon Cannabis Co.
The Cannabis Crawl sponsored by Weedmaps began at Burnside Brewing, where crawlers gathered to pre-func. More than 50 Weed Week attendees showed up for the crawl, and drinking and networking at Burnside Brewing was the perfect way to break-the-ice for everybody involved.
Weed Week attendees that participated in the crawl had their choice between three treks - Pearl District, Sandy Blvd, and Glisan trek. The Pearl District trek toured Oregon's Finest, MindRite, Oregon Weedery, Thurman St. Collective, and Slabtown. Folks who went on the Sandy trek stopped at Nectar, Pure Green, Silver Stem, Blazin', and Oregon's Finest; while the crawlers on the Glisan trek visited Progressive Collective, Herbalist Farmer, Left Coast Connection, Glisan Buds, and The Green Front.
The crawl was amazing. All the participating dispensaries offered discounts and specials to crawlers, and it was a great way to see Portland pot industry up-close.
The VIP Dining Experience, sponsored by Oregon Cannabis Co., began shortly after the cannabis crawl ended. There were about 60 people who came out to enjoy an infused-dining experience prepared by Cannabis Classic award-winning chef Michelle delaPeńa. She prepared a five course meal which included Prosciutto Doobies, Herb Vinaigrette Salad, Lumpia Bites, Steak Strips, and Alaskan Blueberry Pudding. It was absolutely delicious. The strains used to infuse the food was Cannabis Classic award-winning buds Odin’s Beard (Best Sativa, Alaska 2016) and Dank the Tank (Highest THC, Alaska 2016).
“The food was amazing and the presentation was beautiful,” said one attendee. “The chef’s passion definitely came through in both the food and experience.”
“The chef killed it,” said another attendee. “I had a really great time and the food was spot-on.”
The end of the evening wrapped up around mid-night with monster dabs from the Dab Doctor, who had been serving up dabs all night long. Though we ended with dabs, it was the food that was the star of the evening.
